Hard Life for Our Puppies

Our dogs are basically our children right now and spoiled rotten. I take them to the dog park across the street every day for a swim, run and playtime with other doggies. They literally collapse every night. It's the best spent 30 minutes of my day! I reap the rewards later with a quiet house!

Wedding Bells are Ringing!

We've had a very exciting May!

Ricky's dad, bro Mitch and girlfriend Liz came to visit us in Perth last week. We had a wonderful time celebrating!!! On the second night of their trip, we headed to see the sunset on beautiful City Beach (10 min from our house btw!). Mitch took Lizzie on a walk along the beach. I played a spy with my turbo zoom lens. I captured the big moment when he popped the question! We are thrilled to have her in our family. She is the sweetest, dearest girl! I am so overjoyed to have her as my new sista!!

Exotic Birds

Birds in Australia are GORGEOUS and very unique to what we see in the states.

Check out this shot I took in Kangaroo Island (by the way, my Canon does the work for me. I'm no pro photographer!)

Holidays are Hard Away From Home ...

We've found holidays are hard when you're away from home. For instance, on Christmas Ricky and I HAD to slum it on the beach with champagne and muffins. But today, I've found that Cinco de Mayo is by far the loneliest holiday. No one in Australia understands the meaning of this very special day. Who is going to slam back chips, queso and margaritas with me?! Not to mention fight the crowd at the local favorite Tex Mex joint? We'll have to create a party of our own.

By the way - if you're looking for the best margarita recipe, I'll give you mi padre's famous concoction. But in exchange, you have to promise me you'll have one with me next time we are together!

One can frozen limeade
One can beer (of any sorts really, however a Mexican beer like Corona always fits the bill)
Half to one can tequila (amount of tequila depends on the crowd. I recommend Don Julio or anything 100% agave)
Fresh limes
Ice

Place all ingredients into blender. Salt the rim of the glass if that suits you!

¡OlĂ©!

Happy Bday to Me!

Sunday, May 1 was my 26th birthday! Ricky and I had a great time celebrating all weekend. It doesn't quite feel the same without family and best friends, but I received so many sweet messages and cards.

A little recap of the celebrations ... watched the royal wedding and grilled on the barbie Friday night, enjoyed big brunch Saturday and fun night out on the town, made pizza and cookies at home Sunday. It was a relaxing, beautiful and sunny weekend!

I was surprised on Monday with gorgeous flowers from my mother-in-law, Kim! She's the best! Just last week I received a shipment of TRISCUITS! We share a love of these crackers and I cannot find them in Australia.

Our garden is blooming AGAIN! Even though it's fall now.

Thank you to everyone for wishing me a great birthday! I'm off now to the dog park to run my boys (and run off all the yummy treats from the weekend!)
